The Nallatech FSB accelerator products feature an innovative modular design allowing custom platforms to be easily constructed from 3 module types:
• FSB-BASE - single Xilinx Virtex-5 LX110-3 FPGA which interfaces directly to the Intel® Xeon® processor socket and the 64-bit 1066MHz FSB bus. This module is not user accessible - it deals exclusively with the FSB protocol. It is always positioned at the bottom of the accelerator stack. High speed, low latency LVDS links are used to pass data from the BASE module to the modules above.
• FSB-COMPUTE - processing card that plugs onto the FSB-BASE module for additional processing capability. Each FSB-COMPUTE module features two Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGAs and four independent banks of DDR-II SRAM memory. Mutliple FSB-COMPUTE modules can be stack one on top of the other.
• FSB-EXPANSION - processing and I/O module that plugs onto the FSB-BASE or FSB-COMPUTE module. Features one Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA, four independent banks of QDR-II SRAM memory, plus off-module I/O with direct access to 20 lanes of high-speed GTP (3.125Gbps) / GTX (6Gbps) transceivers and 80 GPIO pins.
Up to 3 FPGA accelerator stacks can be populated within a single server. Nallatech PCI Express FPGA cards can also be added to the platform to further increase logic density or provide sensor I/O.
